It's been perfect walking weather this Christmas - still and very frosty - and I've taken full advantage since my return from India.
I went up Kinder Scout in the Peak District yesterday, setting off from Harefield near Glossop. It's quite an iconic walk, is this, taking about four-and-a-half hours and reaching a height of around 2,200 feet.
About 10 of us went under the expert guidance of Phil Welsh, who has done the Himalayas so this wasn't a problem to him. We were in good hands; he's done it hundreds of times so we knew exactly where to go. We had muster points where we all got together and had a bit of Bovril.
