Gareth Bale returned to the Real Madrid side with a bang over the weekend following a lengthy period on the sidelines.
The winger had been missing since November after sustaining an ankle injury during Los Blancos’ 2-1 Champions League victory over Sporting Lisbon.
The Welsh wizard got a 19-minute run-out in Real’s 2-0 win over Espanyol on Saturday and wasted no time in reasserting himself on the Bernabeu stage with a goal in the 83rd-minute.

He picked the ball up close to the visitors’ box before running at their defence and cooly slotting the ball past Diego Lopez.
Despite Real Madrid‘s dominance in La Liga for most of the season, it was a timely reminder of how much they have missed Bale’s ability to grab a goal out of almost nothing.
Bale has eight goals in 17 appearances this season, with his shots, dribbles and aerial duels won stats up there with the best in the squad.
As the following video shows, the 27-year-old will be key if Zinedine Zidane’s side are looking to retain the Champions League title and continue to do well in La Liga.

A rare Newcastle positive.
Seven are currently playing in the PL.
Ronaldinho would have been proud.
Would he fit into such a strong side?
More footballers should follow his lead.
We really wish we went on this England trip.
Ryan Garry suffered some incredibly bad luck.
Football is more than just a game.
And we thought the West Ham list was bad…
Chelsea really enjoy the January window.
