Lionel Messi reached another astonishing landmark of a staggering career at the weekend when he reached 500 goals for Barcelona.
Coming courtesy of a match-winning brace at Real Madrid in El Clasico – the second of which being the stoppage-time winner – Messi could hardly have picked a better stage to reach the milestone.
The Argentina superstar has scored over double the amount of goals of anyone else to have appeared for Barcelona in the history of the club, with former Spain forward Cesar his nearest rival with 232 goals.
