The teams & players topping the stats halfway through the CL group stages

Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City stars are among some of the best players in the Champions League so far this season, according to statistics.

We are now halfway through the group stages of the Champions League, with each club having played three fixtures in the competition.

There have already been a number of surprises: Atletico Madrid remain without a win in a group containing FK Qarabag; Napoli sit outside the top two behind Shakhtar Donetsk; and Borussia Dortmund’s hopes of progressing are almost all but over after a draw and two defeats from their first three games.

The five English clubs, meanwhile, have won 11 and drawn four of their 15 games so far.

Chelsea won at Atletico last month, while this week saw Spurs claim a 1-1 draw at Real Madrid on Tuesday night, Liverpool win 7-0 at Maribor, and Manchester City beat Napoli to make it three wins from three before Manchester United maintained their 100% record 24 hours later.

The Premier League also provides four of the top five-scoring teams in the competition so far, while Harry Kane, Eden Hazard, Christian Eriksen, Andreas Christensen and John Stones are among the leaders in certain statistical rankings.

We’ve taken a look at some of the most important statistics relating to both team and individual performances.
