15 things we loved this weekend: Klopp, Klich, Sancho, Souness & more

Planet Football β€’

Manchester City claimed the first major honour of the season in England on Sunday – and there was once again plenty else around Europe to entertain us over the weekend.

A 0-0 draw at Wembley sparked into life towards the end of extra-time whenΒ KepaΒ Arrizabalaga refused to be subbed off for the penalty shootout – and then failed to save Sergio Aguero’s weak spot kick despite guessing the right way.

That alone as enough to entertain us, but throw in another Graeme Souness rant, some shithousery and some great goals and skill from around Europe, and it really was a wonderful weekend.

Jurgen Klopp

He wasn’t wrong.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Is it possible to marry a first touch? We’re in love.

Federico Chiesa

If we’re marrying that, then what are we going to do about this?

KepaΒ Arrizabalaga

The absolute balls of this lad. TV moment of the year right there.

Alexandre Lacazette

The miss was worth it just to get this photo.

Jadon Sancho

This lad. Wow.

Martin Odegaard

Remember, he’s still only 20.

Alonso Escoboza

The Dorados winger has obviously based his game on Trevor Sinclair.

Luis Murial

Now that is how you take a free-kick.

Kylian MbappΓ©

We’re going to be kind and call this instinct. His face afterwards says it all.

Mateusz Klich

Brilliant shithousery.

Dimitar Berbatov

Some pre-match banter from the United side.

Jamie Carragher

And some from the Liverpool side.

Alan Hutton

We certainly don’t love the fact the injury he suffered at Stoke may well mean he never plays for Villa again, but we do love how much he clearly cares for the club.

Graeme Souness

If you haven’t already seen this, it’s going to make your day.
