Cristiano Ronaldo wrote himself into the record books once again on Tuesday as he scored his 100th goal in the Champions League during Real Madrid’s 4-2 victory over Bayern Munich.
Bayern took the tie to extra-time at the Bernabeu, leading 2-1 after 90 minutes, but Ronaldo scored twice to complete a hat-trick on the night and reach a century of goals in the competition in some style.
Before his goals Ronaldo had been criticised by some sections of the crowd for not working hard enough off the ball, although he emphatically responded.
“I don’t tell them to be quiet, never, I only ask that they do not whistle,” Ronaldo told Spanish TV station Antena 3. “Because I always give my best in every game, although sometimes I do not score goals I try and work hard to help Real Madrid.”
