Poole Pirates extended their lead at the top of the Sky Sports Elite League to seven points after a comfortable win over Swindon at Wimborne Road.

The third-placed Robins were expected to run Poole close, but the home side dominated proceedings with a powerful display from their entire side as they recorded just one last place in the whole meeting.

Captain Bjarne Pedersen showed good form with 14 points, with Aussie ace Chris Holder not far behind with 12 - but there were no weak links on show for The Pirates.

Swindon had a virtual four-man team on show with James Wright, Travis McGowan and Richard Sweetman all failing to score.

Leigh Adams showed his usual excellence with 14 - including a tactical win, whilst exciting reserve Jurica Pavlic again performed well for his 9 points.

Belle Vue's fears of being dragged into the relegation play-off have all but gone after easing to a 60-30 success over Wolverhampton - who remain second from bottom of the table.

Charlie Gjedde was the star of the show for The Aces with a perfect 15-point haul whilst Jason Crump claimed 11.

There were also excellent showings from youngsters Patrick Hougaard (10+4) and Billy Forsberg (9+4).

Wolves were always up against it after losing Niels Kristian Iversen after just one ride.

Reserve Nicolai Klindt (12) performed very well, whilst Freddie Lindgren contributed 8.
