Oxlade-Chamberlain scored a brilliant opener as Liverpool inflicted a first Premier League defeat of the season on City by triumphing in a 4-3 thriller.
The England international had initially made a slow start to the season after swapping Arsenal for Liverpool in a £35million deal in the summer.
But Oxlade-Chamberlain is now flourishing at Anfield, and the 24-year-old is one of the players who is expected to step up following the sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.
Following the win over City, Oxlade-Chamberlain spoke to former Gunner Lee Dixon to explain his Arsenal exit and his new role at Liverpool – having appeared in attack and midfield for the Reds.
