Watch: Brilliant MOTD analysis of Vardy wonder-goal, with multiple angles

Jamie Vardy scored a phenomenal volley as Leicester defeated West Brom in the Premier League on Saturday.

England striker Vardy raced onto Riyad Mahrez’s ball over the top and brilliantly hit a left-footed volley into the bottom corner as the ball dropped over his shoulder.

The second half saw Leicester storm to victory, despite having been a goal down, and heap even more pressure on Baggies manager Alan Pardew.

However all the talk after the game centered around Vardy’s goal, and Saturday night’s edition of Match of the Day was no different.

“It’s a sensational goal from Jamie Vardy,” former England midfielder Jermaine Jenas said.

“It’s not the first time we’ve seen this type of technique from him. The ball from Mahrez is right on the money and the finish is just sublime.”

“This is my favourite goal of the season,” Frank Lampard added. “The skill of this to run onto a straight ball and end up firing it into the far corner.

“He catches it absolutely perfect, and then, even better, he’s right-footed – that’s his bad foot.”
