13 things we loved this weekend: Klopp, Pogba, De Bruyne, Griezmann & more

Away from the madness of Ben Stokes’ Ashes innings, football provided plenty of entertainment this weekend too.

Liverpool put Arsenal to the sword in the Premier League, Antoine Griezmann got off the mark in a seven-goal thriller for Barcelona and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting turned into the greatest footballer of all time.

We’ve rounded up the best of the action on and off the pitch.

Paul Pogba

The main man.

Giorgian de Arrascaeta

In our imaginations, every goal scored in the Brazilian league looks like this.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting

Who needs Neymar?

Antoine Griezmann

Off the mark for Barcelona with two goals against Betis, including this beauty.

Loren Moron

The poor bastard did this at 5-1 down.

Martin Odegaard

There are some very pleasing Rooney and Ronaldo vibes about this counter-attack.

Jurgen Klopp

He’s turned Liverpool into a juggernaut.

Aleksandar Kolarov

Shout out to the Genoa defender on the floor trying to stop Kolarov shooting under the wall.

Kevin de Bruyne

He’s just far too good.

Lee Cattermole

Classic Cattermoling.

Juan Cuadrado

You can’t teach skills like that.

Keep watching it…

Bernardo

And the award for the most awkward moment of the weekend goes to…
