13 things we loved this weekend: Klopp, Pogba, De Bruyne, Griezmann & more
Away from the madness of Ben Stokes’ Ashes innings, football provided plenty of entertainment this weekend too.
Liverpool put Arsenal to the sword in the Premier League, Antoine Griezmann got off the mark in a seven-goal thriller for Barcelona and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting turned into the greatest footballer of all time.
We’ve rounded up the best of the action on and off the pitch.
Paul Pogba
The main man.
My ancestors and my parents suffered for my generation to be free today, to work, to take the bus, to play football. Racist insults are ignorance and can only make me stronger and motivate me to fight for the next generation. pic.twitter.com/J9IqyWQj4K

Giorgian de Arrascaeta
In our imaginations, every goal scored in the Brazilian league looks like this.
Giorgian De Arrascaeta scored *this* goal for Flamengo last night.
Have a nice week xpic.twitter.com/x2LUEYpBbf

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting
Who needs Neymar?
Antoine Griezmann
Off the mark for Barcelona with two goals against Betis, including this beauty.
Loren Moron
The poor bastard did this at 5-1 down.
Martin Odegaard
There are some very pleasing Rooney and Ronaldo vibes about this counter-attack.
Jurgen Klopp
He’s turned Liverpool into a juggernaut.
Liverpool have won 12 consecutive Premier League games for the first time in the club’s history.

Aleksandar Kolarov
Shout out to the Genoa defender on the floor trying to stop Kolarov shooting under the wall.
🎯 Aleksandar Kolarov really is a free kick specialist!

Kevin de Bruyne
He’s just far too good.
50 – Kevin De Bruyne has now made 50 assists in the Premier League, achieving this milestone in the fewest appearances of any player in the competition's history (123). Exquisite. pic.twitter.com/HMM5p2Q251

Lee Cattermole
Classic Cattermoling.
1 – Lee Cattermole received a yellow card for his first ever foul in the Eredivisie. Surprise.

Juan Cuadrado
You can’t teach skills like that.
This free-kick routine
Keep watching it…
Bernardo
And the award for the most awkward moment of the weekend goes to…
I always find twatting your teammate in the ankle one hour before kick-off goes down a right treat with him & the lads.
