8 incredible stats that show Liverpool are back to their best in 2023-24

Liverpool have looked back to their fluid best at points of this season so far and we’ve picked out eight stats which highlight just how good Jurgen Klopp’s side have been.

The Reds currently find themselves second in the Premier League table, having only lost one of their opening 15 matches. Arsenal hold a two-point lead over Klopp’s side as things stand, but Liverpool still have a great shot at the title themselves.

Klopp’s side hold a four-point lead over Manchester City as things stand, although the German boss thinks it would be foolish to rule Pep Guardiola’s side out of the title race.

“If somebody would write Man City off that would be the biggest joke in the history of football. Arsenal are fighting and had a similar experience we had [late win vs Fulham],” Klopp told reporters.

“It feels really good but anyway you have to start the next game from 0-0. Aston Villa is incredible. Man United is there, don’t play yet maybe exactly the football whoever wants – the media or whatever – but they have points like crazy.

“Chelsea, I’m not sure if they’re coming. The league is incredibly strong, you need to be lucky to get through difficult moments, with injuries especially.

“So I have no clue [who will win the title]. Probably [there are more challengers]. It was the last years, always two. I’m not interested in that, so long as we’re around there. But it’s so difficult and intense. Ask me again in April.”

While Klopp himself has refused to discuss Liverpool’s title chances, there’s no denying that the Reds currently find themselves in a strong position heading into the festive period.
