Liverpool's Mo Salah in action

Breaking down Mohamed Salah’s sensational record for Liverpool vs. Man Utd

Mohamed Salah has been the bane of Manchester United fans for quite some time. We’ve taken a closer look at the Egyptian forward’s sensational record against the Red Devils.

There can be little debate that Liverpool against United is one of the most highly-anticipated fixtures in the Premier League. A game which is steeped in history and regularly delivers the drama.

In recent history, Liverpool have had the better of this fixture as they have only lost two of their last 12 encounters with the Red Devils and more often than not, it’s Salah who makes the difference.

The 31-year-old was on hand to score a hat-trick as Jurgen Klopp’s men wiped the floor with United at Anfield and ran out as 7-0 winners last season, although he failed to score in the 0-0 draw at home to Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils earlier this season.

Earlier this season, the 31-year-old scored his 200th goal for Liverpool and he’s not showing any signs of slowing down soon.

“Pretty impressive”, Klopp said of Salah’s record. “That was pretty much the best moment to score it, to be 100 per cent honest. Incredible number for a super special player. I don’t know how many times he’s saved us.

“It was a pretty loud reception in the dressing room when we gave him a shirt with the 200 on the back.”

In total, Salah has scored 12 goals against United which is more than he has scored against any other team. He’s also managed to score double figures against Manchester City, Tottenham and West Ham.

Liverpool head into their FA Cup clash against United as the overwhelming favourites and rightly so. They’ve taken 10 points from the last 12 available against United in the league and have racked up some cricket scores in recent years under Klopp.

Ten Hag’s side will be wary of the threat the Egyptian forward brings, especially considering the prolific form he has been in this season. In the Premier League alone, the 31-year-old has 18 goal contributions so far.

We certainly wouldn’t be surprised if Salah manages to make the difference between both sides once again and to illustrate his incredible record against United, we’ve had a closer look at his record in this fixture.
