The amazing Premier League table since Kobbie Mainoo made his full Man Utd debut
Kobbie Mainoo made his full Premier League debut for Manchester United against Everton in November 2023 and the youngster hasn’t looked back since.
The Red Devils have an excellent track record when it comes to producing young gems and Mainoo seems to be their latest wonderkid who looks destined for the very top.
Midfield has been a contentious issue for Erik ten Hag this season as Sofyan Amrabat hasn’t quite lived up to expectations and Casemiro hasn’t been at the peak of his powers.
Luckily enough, the club have been able to rely upon Mainoo. Since making his full Premier League debut, he’s been among United’s best-performing players.
The 18-year-old plays with the sort of confidence that is rare with players of his age and he’s already started to garner plenty of hype. In total, the teenager has racked up 11 Premier League appearances this season totalling 875 minutes of football.
With the Euros only around the corner, plenty of fans and pundits alike have been urging Gareth Southgate to consider him for the national squad this summer.
“Kobbie Mainoo has to be in the next England squad,” Ian Wright said on X. “Such maturity in chaotic conditions that we’ve not seen from a England player in a long time. Impressed every time I watch him.”
He produced another fine display in United’s latest triumph over Luton. He played the full 90 minutes and completed six dribbles, created two chances and boasted an impressive pass accuracy of 88 per cent.
Since the youngster made his full debut, United have averaged 1.77 points per game as the club have taken 23 points from 13 games in that timeframe.
Ten Hag has been pleased with Mainoo’s development over these last few months and he thinks that the youngster can learn a lot from Casemiro, who he regularly plays alongside.
“For Kobbie Mainoo, he can learn a lot from it and that togetherness, that bond… also Kobbie is very coachable and Casemiro has so much experience,” Ten Hag told reporters.
“Kobbie will learn a lot from it and that can even accelerate his development. So yeah, I’m happy to have him back and when they can play together I think they can take benefits from each other.”
We’ve broken down the numbers and have configured what the Premier League table looks like since Mainoo made his full United debut in November 2023.
