13 things we loved this week: Icardi, Pickford, Rooney, Ter Stegen & more

Club football made a welcome return this weekend following the international break – and Inter, Everton and Barcelona men were among those to catch our eye.
Chelsea and Manchester United faced off in an explosive clash at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League, while there was also the small matter of the Milan derby in Serie A.
We’ve rounded up the best of the action on and off the pitch.
Mauro Icardi
A 92nd-minute winner in the Milan derby? Yes please.
Wayne Rooney
Wazza bagged another two goals as DC United beat New York City 3-1. The side who were bottom of the table when he joined have now secured themselves a play-off spot.
Luciano Acosta
Admittedly, neither of Rooney’s goals were as good as his team-mate’s.
Jordan Pickford
ENGLAND’S NO.1, ENGLAND’S ENGLAND’S NO.1.
Vinicius Jr
Okay, the fact he was sent off for diving moments after scoring this spoils it slightly.

Federico Higuain
Meet Federico. He plays for Columbus Crew and really, really likes chipping goalkeepers.
Jordon Mutch
He’s playing for Vancouver Whitecaps now, did you know? And he’s scoring f*cking screamers.
Jordy Clasie
He’s actually still a Southampton player, did you know? But he’s back at Feyenoord on loan and scoring f*cking screamers.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen
This is special.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen, again
So is this.
Josip Ilicic
We support Atalanta now.
Sacavenense
The Portuguese third-tier outfit were beaten 3-1 by CD Aves, but they managed to score the best goal you will see all weekend.
Ben Harris
The magic of the cup.
Surely the goal of the round in @EmiratesFACup Fourth Round Qualifying.
Take a bow, @benharris0808 👏
