13 things we loved this weekend: James, Lampard, Mbappé & more
The Premier League took a back seat this weekend as the FA Cup took precedent in England, while there was plenty of intriguing action across Europe.
A number of less-fancied sides have made it through to the FA Cup quarter-finals following the weekend’s results, with Chelsea and Arsenal still to play each other on Monday night.
We’ve rounded the best of the action on and off the pitch.
Andre-Pierre Gignac
Still scoring goals like this in Mexico.
Krzysztof Piatek
Six goals in his first five games for Milan now. It’s getting silly.
Claudio Pizarro
The oldest goalscorer in Bundesliga history thanks to a 96th-minute free-kick.
Kylian Mbappé
Turns out Mbappe counts his training goals, which makes us suspect he’s been chatting to Pele recently.

Kylian Mbappé
There’s really no need, Kylian, you score enough.
Phil Foden
Can you play him a bit more now, Pep?
Daniel James
This is what 99 pace looks like on FIFA.
Frank Lampard
‘Frank Lampard’s tiny hands’ sounds like something from a Vic and Bob show.

Newport County
Each to their own.
Have to admit, expected the Newport County goalkeeper’s wife to be a younger woman than this… pic.twitter.com/POZDpiO8vv

Teemu Pukki
We’re not sure when Norwich City became the new Barcelona, but nice one.
Domenico Criscito
That left-back you always used to sign on Football Manager just scored this 93rd-minute winner.
Northern Irish referees
Maybe don’t do this aloud if you’re sat at work.
You can’t not lip read this in a Northern Irish accent…https://t.co/3RfykNzqmW

Zlatan Ibrahimovic
And do you know what, we’re not going to argue.
“This season i will bring something to you. I will break every record in the @MLS this season.” – Zlatan on what he will deliver to the #LAGalaxy in 2019
