13 things we loved this weekend: Van Dijk, Klopp, Zlatan, Wenger & more
You may have heard: Liverpool won the Champions League this weekend.
While the Reds have obviously dominated the headlines, there were plenty of eye-catching moments elsewhere around the world.
We’ve rounded up the best of the action on and off the pitch.
Virgil van Dijk
There will forever be arguments about it, but this is f*cking daft.

Virgil van Dijk, again
He may have been man of the match in the Champions League final, but Van Dijk isn’t getting carried away.
Van Dijk: "I think Messi is the best player in the world. He should win the Ballon D'Or. So I'm not thinking of that. But if I win, I'll take it. Messi should win it though. He is the best in the world, whether he's in the final or not."

A beautiful, wonderful man.
Earlier in the season, while my little one was fighting for his life in Alder Hey, this lad went out of his way to call every day, to see how we were and whether there was anything he could do for us to help. So, forgive me a tear of joy for him tonight. A brilliant human being pic.twitter.com/JDgwD4ggGg

He couldn’t have Liverpool taking all the headlines, could he?

Louis van Gaal
Louis van Gaal’s reaction to Wayne Rooney getting knocked out by Phil Bardsley, ladies and gentlemen…
🗣Wayne Rooney: "When the boxing video was coming out, I went to see Van Gaal. I said ‘This story’s coming out about me and Phil Bardsley fighting in the house', and he pissed himself laughing. He found it hilarious." pic.twitter.com/HHpA1UXcYT

You can take the man out of Arsenal…
Watching Arsene Wenger walking around a hotel full of Tottenham fans, in a pair of @Arsenal training trackies might be one of the greatest sights I’ve ever witnessed.

Portland are our favourite MLS side. Doing stuff like this at 3-0 down is why.
Not all heroes wear capes.
🔊 “I’ll never forget the look on Willian’s face. He just looked at me and said, ‘What are you doing here!’”

Finished off by Gabriel, Flamengo scored the best team goal of the weekend.
No, not Rodrygo. But he does look a bit like Ronaldo…
In 2013, Henderson’s father was diagnosed with throat cancer. On Saturday, he watched his son lift the European Cup.
The man’s a comedy genius.
Jurgen Klopp, again
Never change, Jurgen.
