A Champ Man/Football Manager 2000s Dream Team – The Broken Metatarsal
We all have our favourite players from the Championship Manager/Football Manager series – and that made picking a 2000s Dream Team incredibly hard.
That’s exactly what we attempted on the latest episode of The Broken Metatarsal, but we were inundated with suggestions from readers – to add to the huge list of candidates we’d already drawn up – that it’d have been impossible to come up with an XI that pleased everyone.
There are certain players whose inclusions were non-negotiable, though, including the legend that is Cherno Samba, who was our guest on this week’s podcast.
We also tried to pick players from both the early and late 2000s otherwise it could very easily have been a dream team from the 2000/01 edition alone. Legends like Dionitis Chiotis, Mark Kerr and Maxim Tsigalko have to make do with mere honourable mentions.
It’s still a formidable team we picked, though, and you can watch us talk through all our choices in the YouTube video below.
As well as some general reminiscing about the greatest game of all time, this week’s podcast also includes a wonderful interview with the aforementioned Samba, who remembers seeing his stats on the game for the first time and thinking they looked about right.
And, as always on The Broken Metatarsal, we finished with another edition of Football Fact or Fiction in which Rich attempted to guess which of the remarkable stories told by Mark, Rob or Pete were in fact true.
Or you can just listen to the latest episode below.
