Ivan Toney & four other players Arsenal have been tipped to sign in January
Arsenal sit just one point off the top of the Premier League table and Mikel Arteta will no doubt already have one eye on the January transfer window.
The Gunners have a strong squad as things stand, but they could do with strengthening a position or two to push them onto the next level.
We’ve taken a closer look at Arsenal and have picked out x players who have been heavily linked with a move to north London in the January window.
Ivan Toney
Despite not kicking a ball all season, Toney’s market value has only been going up. Sky Sports recently claimed that Brentford value their talisman at £100million with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea interested.
While Arteta clearly rates Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah, there’s no denying someone like Toney could take them to the next level. Former Arsenal star Sol Campbell thinks that the striker department is still somewhere Arsenal can improve.
“In the end, they will have to decide by January, do they need a centre forward. 20 to 25 goals in the Premier League. You know, in those big, tight games. I think it will help them,” Campbell told The Mirror.
“There’s Ivan [Toney]. I think they’re good [in other areas of the pitch]. Centre-forward is one thing they might need to look at and see the possibilities, see what’s out there, or wait until next season.”

Dusan Vlahovic
Another forward option for Arsenal is Vlahovic, who they have long been linked with. Juventus reportedly value Vlahovic at £50million which is half of Brentford’s asking price for Toney.
According to TuttoJuve, Arsenal are set to make another move for the 23-year-old who has scored 27 goals in 73 appearances since joining Juventus in 2022.
Sacha Boey
The Galatasaray right-back was a target for Arsenal in the summer and according to Fotospor both Manchester United and Arsenal have sent scouts to watch the defender this season.
Boey himself recently confirmed Arsenal’s interest in the summer, although he clarified that the Gunners did not make a concrete offer at the time.
“There were talks between Galatasaray and Arsenal, but in any case, for me, when there is interest, and there is no offer, it means nothing. There is a huge difference,” Boey told Carre.
Douglas Luiz
Given the uncertainty surrounding Thomas Partey’s long-term future, another midfielder could be on the agenda. Recent reports have claimed that Arteta likes the look of Aston Villa’s Luiz, who has enjoyed an excellent start to the season.
The Brazilian midfielder has six goal contributions in the Premier League this season and Aston Villa aren’t likely to let him leave easily.
According to TEAMtalk, Aston Villa value the 25-year-old at £60million which is likely to be more than Arsenal would be willing to spend in January.

Ruben Neves
Another midfield option under consideration by Arsenal is Neves. Newcastle are also keen to sign the Al Hilal midfielder on loan, but Premier League clubs could vote to block associated clubs from loaning players between themselves which would make the deal difficult.
Arsenal won’t be affected by the outcome of that vote and could nudge ahead of Newcastle in the race to sign the 26-year-old. According to Sport, Arsenal are keen on a January deal, although time will tell if this materialises.
