Trent Alexander-Arnold during the UEFA Champions League match between Liverpool and AC Milan, September 2021.

Comparing Alexander-Arnold’s 21-22 stats to England’s other right-backs

Trent Alexander-Arnold is a ridiculously talented footballer but the Liverpool right-back has struggled to transfer his club form onto the international stage.

Alexander-Arnold has won 14 England caps but has not convinced Gareth Southgate to make him a permanent member of the starting XI. He missed this summer’s Euros with an injury and his inclusion in the squad wasn’t a given anyway.

But the Liverpool man can never be discounted, given the talent he possesses, and will be aiming to make an impression during the upcoming matches with Albania and San Marino.

We’ve compared Alexander-Arnold’s start to the season with the three right-backs included in England’s Euro 2020 squad – Reece James, Kieran Trippier and Kyle Walker.

Note: stats are taken only from Premier League and La Liga games in the 2021-22 season.
