Comparing Erling Haaland’s 21-22 stats to Man City’s current forwards

Erling Haaland has already established himself as one of the best strikers in the world for the present and future at just 21-years-old, and the Norwegian looks set to join Manchester City in the summer of 2022, with the Daily Mail reporting a deal has been agreed.

The world’s biggest clubs had all been circling, but it appears Pep Guardiola and Manchester City have stolen a march on the rest.

According to the report, City will pay Haaland’s release clause of £63million and then stump up an eye-watering £500,000 a week, making Haaland the best-paid player in Premier League history.

City have been after a centre-forward since the departure of Sergio Aguero in the summer of 2021.

Pep Guardiola claimed that he was irreplaceable, but after trying and failing to sign Harry Kane, it seems Haaland was identified as the man to help them as they chase their first Champions League trophy.

With Guardiola’s system that uses a ‘false nine’ instead of a typical centre forward still working well enough to see them sit at the top of the Premier League table, signing one of the best goalscorers in the world would surely further help advance their domination of England.

Despite missing a large portion of the season with injury, Haaland remains one of the most coveted players in the world and is seen as the successor to Cristiano Ronaldo at the top of world football.

Here’s how his stats from games in the Bundesliga compare to City’s current attacking options’ stats in Premier League games.
