Comparing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Mourinho’s net spend at Man Utd
While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Jose Mourinho have different approaches to man-management at Manchester United, they do have one thing in common.
Solskjaer and Mourinho both got the chequebook out to try and enhance their squad, spending over £800million on new signings since 2016.
Courtesy of Transfermarkt, we’ve looked at their net spend during their spells as United manager to see who spent more.
As the stats show, both managers average around £100m a year and Solskjaer currently has a slightly smaller net spend than Mourinho had.
But while Solskjaer’s net spend at Old Trafford has increased every year, Mourinho’s decreased up until his eventual departure in December 2018.
