Wolves striker Raul Jimenez has been linked with a move to Manchester United – but would the forward fit in at Old Trafford?
United are expected to sign a new forward this summer and Jimenez has been one of the most impressive performers outside the Premier League’s ‘big six’ clubs this season.
We’ve compared the 29-year-old’s 2019-20 league stats to United’s current strikers, Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford. Odion Ighalo hasn’t been included due to his lack of appearances this season.
In 29 Premier League appearances so far this season, Jimenez has registered 13 goals and six assists at a rate of a goal or assist every 129.7 minutes.
Of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s forwards, Rashford unsurprisingly leads the way with 14 goals and four assists at a rate of one every 104.5 minutes.
Martial has played through the middle for United this season, and the striker has a record of 11 goals and three assists, averaging one every 134.6 minutes.
Greenwood has had an impressive breakthrough season at Old Trafford, contributing five goals at an average of one every 129.6 minutes.

Strikers are renowned for putting away chances rather than creating chances for others, but Jimenez still makes 1.5 key passes per 90 minutes in the league.
United’s forwards have been unable to match that tally this season, with Rashford and Greenwood both on 1.1 while Martial is on 1.0.
The Mexican has a pass completion rate of 72.4%, which is bettered by Rashford (76.4%), Martial (80.5%) and Greenwood (83.2%).
In terms of dribbling, Rashford comes out on top with 2.1 successful dribbles per 90 minutes although his completion rate is just 48.8%.
Jimenez follows closely behind with 1.9 successful dribbles per 90 minutes at a completion rate of 65.5%. Martial then completes the third most with 1.7 per 90 at a success rate of 53.1%.
Greenwood finds himself at the bottom of the pile and only manages 1.4 per 90, but he has the highest success rate at 73.6%.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer likes his forwards to contribute defensively and it may be an area Jimenez would have to work on if he were to move to United.
The striker’s average of 0.6 tackles per 90 minutes betters only Martial, who averages 0.5 per 90.
Greenwood leads the way in this regard with 1.5 tackles per 90 minutes while Rashford also makes 0.6 tackles per 90.
But in terms of interceptions, Jimenez records the most with 0.5 per 90, followed by Greenwood and Rashford on 0.3 and Martial on 0.1.
