Comparing Romelu Lukaku’s 2020-21 stats to Chelsea’s forwards last season

Chelsea have broken their transfer record to bring Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge, spending almost £100million on the Belgian who just had the best season of his career as the talisman for Inter’s Scudetto victory.

The Blues have been tipped to sign a big-name striker all summer after a conspicuous lack of goals last term, as Jorginho ended up their top scorer in the Premier League with seven goals – all from penalties.

So we’ve compared Lukaku’s 2020-21 Serie A stats to the corresponding Premier League output of Chelsea’s forwards last season, all of whom remain at the club apart from Olivier Giroud, who has moved in the opposite direction to Inter’s city rivals AC Milan.
