Comparing Tottenham’s first-half and second-half PL results this season

Quick Reads

Despite starting games well, Tottenham have struggled to maintain the same level of performance over the course of 90 minutes in 2020-21.

The last three Premier League matches in which Spurs have led 1-0 at half-time have all ended 1-1, prompting criticisms of Jose Mourinho’s approach.

We’ve separated their first-half and second-half results in the Premier League so far this season to see how they compare.

Spurs actually have a better first-half record than any other team in the Premier League this season, leading at the break in 10 of their 17 games.

But things really go downhill for Mourinho’s side after the interval and they are currently 11th in the Premier League’s second-half table.

As well as scoring fewer goals and conceding more goals in the second period, their loss rate also increases by over 40%.
