The Portuguese forward has managed to score a whopping 53 goals throughout 2023 which is an absolutely insane return for the Portuguese superstar.
Since making the switch to Al Nassr, the 38-year-old has looked back to his goalscoring best. For club and county, Ronaldo has averaged a goal every 96 minutes throughout the calendar year which is astonishing consistency.
To go along with his excellent goalscoring numbers, Ronaldo has also been a great provider for his teammates this year too. The experienced forward has chipped in with 15 assists this year, taking his overall goal contribution tally to 68 for the calendar year.
We still think that Ronaldo could do a job in Europe, but he seems content enough by smashing it in his new surroundings. One thing you can’t question about the Portuguese legend is his drive and professionalism and it seems he’s still got plenty of years left in him yet.
“They say Ronaldo is finished… But it’s not true,” the former Manchester United star told reporters in September. “I’ll keep playing until my legs say: Cristiano, I’m finished.
“I still have a lot. I still like football and scoring goals. I still like to win. They say I’m finished, but I keep showing that it’s not true.”
There’s no denying that Ronaldo had a tough year last time around as he only scored 16 goals for club and country. However, those who doubted the Portuguese star have been made to eat their words as he has looked as sharp as ever this time around.
Ronaldo scored his 50th goal of the calendar year during Al Nassr’s thrilling 5-2 triumph over Al-Shabab and he promptly took to social media to thank his fans for their support throughout the year.
“Great victory and I’m thrilled to announce my 50th goal in 2023, all thanks to the unwavering support of my teammates, fans, and my family! There’s still room for a few more this year.”
