How Ben White’s stats compare to Man Utd’s current centre-backs
Manchester United are considering a move for Brighton centre-back Ben White, according to reports. But how does he compare to their current options?
The Manchester Evening News suggest that the club are “huge admirers” of the defender, who is on their wishlist of potential options going forward alongside RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano and Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane.
White played every minute of Leeds United’s promotion-winning campaign from the Championship last season and caught the eye, while this is his first season playing for his parent club in the Premier League.
Graham Potter’s Seagulls have endured a tough start to the season in terms of results, with a couple of difficult outings for their highly-rated 23-year-old centre-back – not least when he was turned inside out by Marcus Rashford – but it’s believed that he’s still impressing scouts.
Eric Bailly has only played 97 minutes of Premier League football this season, so we’re only looking at the ever-present duo Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof. Here’s how White stacks up against them (Premier League stats only).

Ben White – 2.1 (61.7%)
Harry Maguire – 0.5 (62.5%)
