Manchester United‘s No.7 shirt is one of the most iconic in football, having been worn by the likes of George Best, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.

In the years since Ronaldo’s exit, however, several players have struggled under the weight of expectation that the shirt number brings.

After joining United on a free transfer in 2020, Edinson Cavani became the ninth player to be handed the iconic No.7 during the Premier League era.

Cavani was tasked with the job of dismissing the ‘curse’ and has already outscored some of his predecessors during a promising debut season at Old Trafford.
