The Ole Gunnar Solskjaer era is over at Manchester United. But what kind of legacy will he leave?

United have officially announced that Solskjaer has been dismissed, but the writing was on the wall since their dismal 4-1 defeat at Watford yesterday.

The Norwegian coach, a legend at the club from his heroics as a player, is certainly the most popular manager among the fanbase since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013. He masterminded some famous wins, particularly over PSG and Manchester City, while leading them to a runner-up finish in the Premier League last term.

But Solskjaer also failed to deliver any silverware, and their form since the grand return of Cristiano Ronaldo has been among the worst runs of United’s modern history.
