Comparing Jorginho’s 22-23 stats to Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey

Arsenal are set to complete the signing of Chelsea and Italy midfielder Jorginho to bolster their Premier League title challenge, but how does Jorginho’s stats compare to Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey’s this season?

Mikel Arteta has been looked for midfield reinforcements throughout the January transfer window, and had a £60million bid for Brighton’s Moises Caciedo rejected.

But Arteta has now struck a £12million deal for Jorginho and the 31-year-old could make his Arsenal debut against Everton on Saturday.

Jorginho joined Chelsea in July 2018 and went on to make 213 appearances, playing a crucial role in the club lifting the Europa League title in 2019 and Champions League in 2021.

He also helped Italy to the Euro 2020 title and was named UEFA Men’s Player of the Year later that summer, as well as finishing third in voting for the 2021 Ballon d’Or award.

Despite falling by the wayside at Stamford Bridge, Jorginho should offer invaluable title-winning experience in the run-in and we’ve compared his 2022-23 stats with those of Xhaka and Partey.
