Kylian Mbappe of PSG cups his ear in celebration after his goal against Monaco at the Parc Des Princes, December 2021

Comparing Kylian Mbappe’s 2021-22 stats to Real Madrid’s forwards

Kylian Mbappe has been one of the best strikers in the world since his emergence as a 17-year-old.

At just 23 years of age, Mbappe has already won the World Cup and multiple league titles, and looks set to depart PSG on a free transfer in the summer of 2022.

It is expected that he will follow in the footsteps of his idol Cristiano Ronaldo by joining Real Madrid as a ‘Galactico’ signing, to be the final piece in their attack which currently has Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior tearing up La Liga.

With such a potent front line, and the likes of Eden Hazard and Rodrygo competing for a place, some may question whether Real Madrid need another attacker instead of a midfielder or defender, but you do not turn down a chance to sign someone who is bound to win a Ballon d’Or in the future.

We’ve compared Mbappe’s Ligue 1 stats from this season to the corresponding La Liga output of Real Madrid’s current attackers to see how he stacks up against their current options.
