Comparing Leandro Trossard’s 2022-23 stats to Tottenham’s forwards

Quick Reads
Brighton, UK. 29th Oct, 2022. Leandro Trossard of Brighton and Hove Albion celebrates after scoring the opening goal during the Premier League match between Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea at The Amex on October 29th 2022 in Brighton, England.

Tottenham are keen on tying up a deal for Brighton’s Leandro Trossard and we’ve dived into the stats to find out how his numbers compare to Spurs’ other forwards.

Since their promotion to the Premier League in 2017, Brighton have been one of the best clubs in the league when it comes to recruitment. They have regularly sold on players for profits and Trossard could be their latest example.

Antonio Conte seems keen to add to his attacking options as Spurs currently sit fifth in the Premier League table. Spurs have scored 37 goals so far this season at a rate of 2.05 goals per game.

Harry Kane has been their most prolific player as he has scored 40% of their league goals up until this point. Son Heung-Min hasn’t quite been his usual self this season as he has only scored four goals.

Back in October Conte told reporters: “I think the club understands very well the importance of bringing players, important players, in January or in the summer.

“This season will be much more difficult than last season because after the transfer market you have seen many teams have improved a lot. You have to face a lot of big, big teams.

“For sure it will be the time to speak with the club at the right time to understand which is the best solution for us.”

Trossard has often caught the eye at Brighton, particularly last season when he scored eight league goals. Since joining the club in 2019 he has scored 25 goals across 122 appearances.

We’ve taken a deeper look into Trossard’s stats from this season in the Premier League and compared his numbers to Kane, Son, Richarlison, Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Moura.
