The most valuable XI in world football: Foden, James, Mbappe…

There is an abundance of young stars coming through in world football right now and several of them make the cut for the most valuable XI in football.

Four of Europe’s top five leagues are represented in the side with players from the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 all making the cut.

Based off their Transfermarkt valuations, we’ve compiled the most valuable XI in world football right now.

GK: Thibaut Courtois

Real Madrid shot-stopper Courtois is the oldest player to make it into the most valuable XI as he is five years older than any other player in the side.

The 30-year-old is still going strong in Spain and is the most valuable goalkeeper in world football as things stand. Valued at a whopping €60million, he just edges out the likes of Gianluigi Donnarumma and Alisson.

RB: Reece James

James is valued at €70million along with Achraf Hakimi, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joao Cancelo. Due to James being the youngest of those players he is given the nod in the most valuable XI.

The 23-year-old was a notable absentee from England’s World Cup squad due to injury and he will now be looking to return to action with Chelsea in the Premier League.

CB: Ruben Dias

Manchester City have a wealth of options at centre-back, but it’s Portuguese international Dias that makes the cut as their most valuable defender. The 25-year-old is valued at €75million, which is considerably more than the likes of Aymeric Laporte and John Stones.

CB: Josko Gvardiol

Lionel Messi might have knocked a chunk of his valuation when he rinsed Gvardiol in the World Cup, but the 20-year-old defender is certainly one of the best in the business right now.

The RB Leipzig star is currently valued at €75million and he is being linked with several of Europe’s elite clubs after a successful World Cup campaign.

LB: Alphonso Davies

Davies has had a series of injuries across the last two seasons which has perhaps halted his progression. Despite this, he is one of the most explosive and exciting defenders in the world right now.

The Canadian full-back is valued at €70million and continues to impress for Bayern Munich. Having already won 12 trophies by the age of 22, he is on the path to greatness.

CDM: Aurelien Tchouameni

England fans will be familiar with just how devastating Tchouameni can be. Real Madrid snapped him up from Monaco in the summer and his value is only expected to carry on rising.

The 22-year-old is valued at €90million and is set to star in Real Madrid’s midfield for the next decade to come along with Eduardo Camavinga and Federico Valverde.

CM: Jude Bellingham

The speculation surrounding Bellingham’s future is set to an all-time high after a wonderful World Cup campaign with England. At just 19 years old, Bellingham has proven he is destined for the top.

Bellingham is valued at €110million, although it is likely to take even more than that to prize him away from Borussia Dortmund. The midfielder has already racked up over 170 professional appearances as a teenager.

CM: Phil Foden

As England’s third representative on this list, it’s no surprise to see Foden making his way into the most valuable world XI. The Man City playmaker is valued at €110million and he is only expected to rise in value.

RW: Kylian Mbappe

Coming in as the most valuable player in world football right now, Mbappe is valued at a whopping €180million. It would surely take a record-breaking transfer fee to lure the World Cup Golden Boot winner away from PSG.

Mbappe is the top scorer across Europe’s top five leagues for the calendar year of 2022 with 31 league goals in 32 appearances. With several records already in his sights, his potential is unprecedented.

ST: Erling Haaland

Haaland isn’t far away from Mbappe’s valuation as he is currently worth €170million according to Transfermarkt. That valuation makes him the highest-valued player in the Premier League and second to only Mbappe in the world.

The Man City forward has maintained his freakishly good goalscoring record in the Premier League this season with 18 goals in 13 appearances already.

LW: Vinicius Junior

The Real Madrid winger has seen his transfer value skyrocket in the last 12 months. Vinicius enjoyed his most prolific season for Real Madrid last season with 27 goal contributions in La Liga alone.

He also scored in the Champions League final against Liverpool and is now a regular for Brazil. These days he is valued at €120million and is Real Madrid’s most valuable player.
