Ranking Man Utd’s squad by their minutes per goal or assist in 2019-20

While Manchester United have improved defensively under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, it’s their talented forwards that stole the headlines in 2019-20. 

The front three of Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are exciting to watch and capable of putting opposing defences to the sword.

Bruno Fernandes has also been in fantastic form since joining United in January, averaging 2.29 points per game in the Premier League.  

We’ve ranked the United squad by their minutes per goal or assist in all competitions in 2019-20, from worst to best.

Note: we’ve only included players that have registered at least five goal involvements for United in 2019-20.

12. Harry Maguire – 914.4 mins per G/A

United signed Maguire for his defensive skills, but the 27-year-old has also provided three goals and two assists in all competitions.

11. Fred – 564.1 mins per G/A

Fred has never been noted for providing goals and assists from midfield and the Brazil international contributed just six goal involvements in 46 appearances.

10. Scott McTominay – 408.8 mins per G/A

McTominay has one assist and five goals for United in 2019-20, including memorable strikes against Arsenal and Manchester City.

9. Andreas Pereira – 377.8 mins per G/A

Pereira has fallen behind Bruno Fernandes in the pecking order at United after providing just two goals and four assists in 2019-20.

8. Jesse Lingard – 313.5 mins per G/A

Lingard endured a difficult season for United and has been linked with a move away after registering just four goals and two assists in all competitions.

7. Daniel James – 300.2 mins per G/A

United signed James from Swansea in 2019 and the winger has provided four goals and six assists in all competitions in his debut season.

6. Juan Mata – 190.6 mins per G/A

Mata has had to settle for a bit-part role at United in 2019-20, but has still contributed three goals and seven assists in 35 appearances.

5. Mason Greenwood – 120.6 mins per G/A

Greenwood has enjoyed an incredible breakthrough season at United, providing 17 goals and three assists in 47 appearances in all competitions.

4. Anthony Martial – 108.2 mins per G/A

After falling out of favour under Jose Mourinho, Martial has looked rejuvenated this season, registering 23 goals and eight assists in all competitions.

3. Marcus Rashford – 105.5 mins per G/A

As well as humiliating defenders with the elastico, Rashford has also provided 22 goals and nine assists for United in 2019-20.

2. Odion Ighalo – 99.8 mins per G/A

Igahlo is yet to provide a goal contribution in the Premier League, but the striker has five goals and one assist in seven FA Cup and Europa League appearances.

1. Bruno Fernandes – 90.1 mins per G/A

Fernandes hit the ground running after joining United from Sporting Lisbon in January, registering 10 goals and eight assists in 20 appearances in all competitions.
