The 20 Premier League players that earn more than Marcus Rashford
Marcus Rashford has been enjoying his most prolific season to date for Manchester United, but as many as 20 Premier League players currently earn more than him.
The 25-year-old has scored 28 goals across all competitions, which is 23 more than he managed in the entirety of last season. Erik ten Hag has built his team around Rashford and now the forward is thriving.
He has scored 34% of United’s league goals under Ten Hag and he has played a huge role in their rebuild this season. Since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, Rashford has been the man to step up.
While Rashford has been in sparking form, there has been a debate over his future. His current deal at Old Trafford runs until 2024 and the club are keen on tying him down to a new deal.
Fabrizio Romano recently clarified that Rashford himself is ‘really happy’ at the club as contract negotiations continue. The journalist also revealed that the forward ‘loves’ working under Ten Hag.
The United boss seems quite calm about the whole situation after he was asked about Rashford’s contract situation. “No, it is not a concern for me,” Ten Hag told reporters.
“I don’t want to give a comment on the process because I don’t think it will support the process. But I’m quite relaxed.”
The forward was substituted in the second half against Everton after sustaining a groin injury. United fans will be hoping that their star man won’t be out of action for too long.
Given his sparkling form of late, Rashford will no doubt be expecting a salary hike. His current deal at United is said to be worth £200,000 per week.
There are 20 Premier League players who earn more than Rashford does, with six of those players playing for United. If he manages to maintain his current form, he will be well worth a fresh contract.
