The best goals of the Premier League season so far – according to xG

Quick Reads

Some love long passing sequences that rip a defence apart, others enjoy impudent dinked finishes, while for many you can’t beat a 30-yard thunderbastard. The Premier League has it all.

All have their own aesthetic qualities and merits. While there’s no way to definitively ‘prove’ one goal being better than another, analytics experts have used algorithmic data and thousands of data points to determine which goals are the unlikeliest to find the back of the net, according to xG (expected goals) figures.
