The Championship top goalscorers since Rhian Brewster’s Swansea debut
Liverpool’s Rhian Brewster has been a revelation at Swansea City, with only one player outscoring him in the Championship since he joined the Welsh outfit.
Brewster joined the Swans on a temporary loan deal earlier this season and made his senior debut against Cardiff City on January 12.
We’ve looked at the Championship’s top goalscorers since that date to see how the 20-year-old compares.
Chris Martin – Six goals
Martin has become a key figure in Derby’s revival under Phillip Cocu, chipping in with six goals since Brewster’s league debut.
Since the restart he has scored a brace against Blackburn and a precious 96th-minute equaliser against Nottingham Forest, while he also provided a hat-trick of assists against Sheffield Wednesday.
The 31-year-old’s future remains in doubt, however, as he is yet to agree to a new deal beyond the end of this season.
Karlan Grant – Six goals
One of the few positives in Huddersfield Town’s first season back in the Championship after relegation from the Premier League, six of Grant’s 18 league goals this season have come since January 12, including five in his last eight appearances.
Town turned down a £15million bid in January for the 22-year-old but may not be able to ward off interest in the forward when the transfer window re-opens.
“Every player dreams of the Premier League. I got a taste last year and hopefully I’ll get back soon,” he told the Daily Star in June.
Adam Armstrong – Seven goals
Following Bradley Dack’s injury, Armstrong has stepped up to the plate and been an integral part of Blackburn’s play-off push.
The 23-year-old has doubled his tally for the Championship season since Brewster debuted for Swansea, including this ridiculous winner against Cardiff City.

Scott Hogan – Seven goals
Hogan was actually outscoring Brewster after joining Birmingham City on loan from Aston Villa in January, scoring seven goals in his first nine league appearances.
But the goals have since dried up for the striker, who has failed to find the net in his five appearances since football’s restart.
Yakou Miete – Eight goals
Meite had only scored four goals in the Championship prior to Brewster’s arrival this season but has since chipped in with twice that amount, plus two goals in the FA Cup.
Admittedly, scoring four goals in Reading’s recent 5-0 win over Luton accounted for a large slice of that.
Four-goal hero Yakou Meite is now sat in the stands eating a pizza while the game is still going on.

Rhian Brewster – Eight goals
Brewster joined Swansea in search of regular first-team football and the striker is clearly enjoying his first taste of senior action.
The Liverpool loanee has eight goals in 15 Championship starts, including four in five since the restart, to strengthen his claim for being part of Jurgen Klopp’s first-team squad next term.
Said Benrahma – 10 goals
Benrahma has become one of the most sought-after players in the Championship, and his electrifying form has reportedly caught Chelsea’s attention.
The winger has spearheaded Brentford’s push for an automatic promotion place, scoring two hat-tricks since Brewster’s arrival.
