The five players with the most PL goals & assists since Mo Salah’s LFC debut
Salah has developed into one of the best players in the world under Jurgen Klopp, helping the Reds end their long wait for a league title in 2019-20.
We’ve taken a closer look at the five players with the most goals and assists in the Premier League since Salah made his Liverpool debut on August 12, 2017.
5. Sergio Aguero – 75 G&A
The Argentina international is fourth in the all-time Premier League goalscoring charts with 180, and he’s kept up that prolific form going into his 30s.
Scoring 21 goals in successive campaigns under Pep Guardiola as City won the league in 2017-18 and 2018-19 was especially impressive.
He’s scored 58 goals and registered a further 17 assists since the start of 2017-18. You’d imagine that he’d be higher in this list, too, were it not for his injury issues in 2020.
4. Raheem Sterling – 81 G&A
Sterling showed great promise during his breakthrough years at Liverpool but has since established himself as one of the most prolific forwards in European football since Guardiola arrived at City.
He’s scored 58 goals and set up a further 23 goals in the Premier League since Salah’s arrival.
Interestingly, he registered 11 Premier League assists in 2017-18 and 10 in 2018-19, but only has two since then.

3. Jamie Vardy – 82 G&A
The eternal Jamie Vardy has made up for lost time since making his Premier League debut at the age of 27 back in 2014.
He’s proven that his form in Leicester’s title-winning 2015-16 season was no fluke, either, getting the Golden Boot last season with 23 goals, one short of his career-best tally that miraculous year.
Only Harry Kane and Salah have scored more Premier League goals than Jamie Vardy since the summer of 2017 – he’s notched 70, with a further 12 assists.
2. Harry Kane – 91 G&A
The Tottenham talisman has scored 73 goals and set up a further 18 since the start of the 2017-18 campaign.
There can be no questions over his record as a striker in years gone by, but this season he’s showing he’s also an elite playmaker with an almost telepathic understanding with Son Heung-Min.
He tops Europe’s top five leagues for assists with 10 – eight of which have been for Son. He already has more assists in 11 outings in 2020-21 than his previous three seasons combined (eight).
Could he go on to break Alan Shearer’s record? He’ll certainly try.
1. Mohamed Salah – 111 G&A
Salah proved at Fiorentina and Roma that he was a better player than Jose Mourinho ever gave him credit for at Chelsea, but few would have expected quite how good he’d be on his return to the Premier League.
Since signing for Liverpool in the summer of 2017, he’s broken the record for goals in a 38-game season with 32 in his debut campaign (with a further 10 assists).
In total he’s registered 82 goals and 29 assists since arriving on Merseyside – 20 more goal contributions than any other player in the league over that period.
Liverpool’s Egyptian King stands unparalleled.
