15 things we loved this weekend: Kane, Messi, Ronaldo, Gavi, Giroud…

The 2022-23 Premier League is over after a dramatic final day saw Everton survive and both Leeds United and Leicester City drop into the Championship.

There were plenty of thrills and spills elsewhere across the division, as a number of star performers on and off the pitch signed off in style.

Action across Europe also delivered the goods, especially in Germany, allowing us to compile this list of 15 things we loved this weekend.

Harry Kane

The first player to hit 30+ goals in two 38-game Premier League seasons. Some doing in this Spurs team.

Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu

Amazing stuff.

Lionel Messi

He’s now surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo as the all-time top scorer in Europe’s big five leagues.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Somebody give Ronnie a cup of cocoa and a blanket.

Martinez & Lukaku

These two are hitting top form at the perfect time. Be afraid, Man City.

Luis Muriel

Don’t watch the replay and just pretend this is an all-timer of a thunderbastard.

Gavi

Just a lovely footballer.

Olivier Giroud

Still got it.

Roy Keane

Never change, Roy.

Jeff Stelling

The greatest.

Soccer AM

End of an era.

This line

Very well played, Michelle Owen.

This rekindled Twitter beef

Oooof.

Dortmund fans

Beautiful scenes after a sickener to end all sickeners.

Hamburg fans

One of the great premature celebrations.
