Manchester United's Antony points to his team-mates in celebration after scoring his team's first goal during the 3-1 Premier League win against Arsenal at Old Trafford, Manchester. Sunday September 4, 2022.

18 things we loved this weekend: Antony, Suarez, Lewandowski…

Planet Football β€’

The biggest fixture of this weekend’s Premier League action was at Old Trafford, as Manchester United beat Arsenal 3-1 to maintain their resurgent form and move within three points of the Gunners.

But there was plenty more action across Britain and Europe, with huge derbies between Everton and Liverpool, Celtic and Rangers, and AC Milan and Inter, as well as plenty of fun and drama elsewhere.

We’ve rounded up the finest moments from all the weekend’s football for your delectation.

Jordan Pickford

The debate over England’s No.1 shirt ends here.

Iago Aspas

Iago ‘Barry’ Aspas is so much more than one dodgy corner…

Jay Stansfield

Heartwarming stuff at Exeter City.

Jota

An absolutely disgusting finish in the Old Firm derby.

Roberto Firmino

Like the bat signal, but with veneers.

Antony

Welcome to Manchester United, Antony…

Kyogo Furuhashi

Shoulder injury? What shoulder injury?

Robert Lewandowski

It just looks like a lovely fit.

Rafael Leao

A goal befitting theΒ Derby della Madonnina.

Dele Alli

It would be lovely if he smashes it in the Super Lig, wouldn’t it?

Martin Braithwaite

Maybe he’ll be loved on one side of Barcelona.

Luis Suarez

Still got it.

Roy Keane

Roy Keane holding a grudge? Never.

Alexis Mac Allister

We’re thinking about starting a disallowed-by-VAR goal of the season competition.

Nikita Parris

Sealing the Lionesses place at the World Cup in style.

Javier Hernandez

Stoppage time, 2-2, penalty. Then you decide to take it like this? Oh, Chicharito.

This linesman

Outstanding officiating in the West Lancashire League. Such a tight call and he gets it spot on.

Scott McTominay

We normally stick to football, but this is such an impressive ippon from the Scottish judoka that we had to include it.
