13 things we loved this weekend: Ozil, Fernandes, Sancho, Werner & more
The Bundesliga continued to fulfil our football needs this weekend, while a number of Premier League clubs also returned to training.
Timo Werner and Robert Lewandowski stole the headlines in Germany as the continued their remarkable goalscoring feats, plus there were a number of other brilliant moments provided by lesser-known players.
We’ve rounded up the best of the action on and off the pitch.
Eduard Lowen
A free-kick that would make David Beckham blush.
Screamer alert 🚨🚨🚨

Jadon Sancho
He’s taking the p*ss.
Jadon Sancho was on the pitch for five seconds and he nutmegged a defender and got him booked 😳#BundesligaIsBack pic.twitter.com/ci7JOiDuBR

Dennis Srbeny
Dreadful defending, sensational finish.
That is how you instantly punish a shocking mistake 😮
Bottom of the table Paderborn are level as Dennis Srbeny curls an absolute beauty into the top corner 🎯#BundesligaIsBack pic.twitter.com/A6hH4hoIGe

Davy Klaassen
We’re still convinced he should have been good for Everton – if only he wasn’t one of 17,000 No.10s they signed that summer.
Davy Klaassen has just pulled an assist out of the very top drawer 😍
First-time, sensational vision!

Christian Kabasele
Kabasele has no time for people criticising players who are worried about the health implications of returning to football. We’re right behind him.
So let me explain our tactic : we are doing one injection of #covid19 once a week. We draw the player/membre of staff who get it like this we are sur that we never play again and avoid relegation 🤦🏾♂️#watfordfc https://t.co/FdfMF4vqoB

Micah Richards
Speaking of footballers who seem like really good blokes.
"Balotelli? He was like my soul-mate, my brother!"

Louis van Gaal
How have we never seen these classic LVG touchline antics from the 1995 Champions League final before?

Tony Dorigo & David Batty
Batty at the White House. Much more preferable than Trump, to be fair.
My son @luca_dorigo found this photo from yesteryear – me and Batts in front of The Whitehouse during England’s tour of the States……and we’re both smiling!! 😁#lufc #mot #england pic.twitter.com/uf6JHfk4in
