We can’t get over the 10 most valuable players in the Turkish Super League
The Turkish Super League is now home to some huge football names and former Manchester United, PSG and Tottenham stars feature among the 10 most valuable players in the league.
Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas all make big investments in their squads over the summer and the league is already looking seriously competitive this year.
Using figures from Transfermarkt, we have gathered the 10 most valuable players in the league and plenty of familiar faces make an appearance.
10. Sacha Boey – £14.6million
The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League of late with the likes of United and Arsenal both reportedly interested. Considering his excellent record since moving to Galatasaray, it’s no surprise to see why.
The 23-year-old is under contract until 2025 and is deemed to be worth just over £14million, although Galatasaray are said to want around £22million for his services.
9. Gedson Fernandes – £14.6million
Despite failing to make an impression while on loan with Tottenham in 2019-20, he’s made quite a name for himself since making the move to Besiktas last year.
Across 55 appearances for the Turkish club, Fernandes has produced 14 goal contributions from midfield and has looked levels above the player he was in the Premier League.
8. Sebastian Szymanski – £15.5million
The Polish playmaker has had enjoyed a prolific start to the new campaign with 10 goal contributions in 13 matches. Fenerbahce boast a slim lead at the top of the league and Szymanski will be pivotal to their title chances.
Having only joined Fenerbahce in the summer, Szymanski is tied down to a long-term contract until 2027 and is deemed to be worth £15.5million.

7. Victor Nelsson – £16.4million
The Danish centre-half was an ever-present member of the Galatasaray starting XI during his first two seasons at the club. However, he has fallen down the pecking order following the arrival of Davinson Sanchez.
Interestingly, Tottenham were heavily linked with the 25-year-old in the summer, but they instead opted to sign Micky van de Ven. Rumours surrounding Nelsson’s future have continued to swirl since and he could be on the move in 2024.
6. Fred – £17.2million
After five years at Old Trafford, Fred opted for a fresh challenge in the summer and completed his move to Fenerbahce. United received around £13million for the Brazilian, which is slightly less than he is deemed to be worth.
“I am very happy to be at this great club,” Fred said upon his arrival in Turkey. “I would like to thank our president and management for making great efforts to get me here. I am in a beautiful country. Everything is going well. I feel good. Everyone has welcomed me in the best way.”
The 30-year-old is still waiting to score his first goal, but he has managed to impress on the whole. With Fenerbahce currently sitting top of the league, Fred will be eyeing up some silverware this season.
5. Cengiz Under – £17.2million
Fenerbahce landed a deal for the Turkish international in the summer, paying a reported £12.9million for his services. The 26-year-old has missed a large chunk of the season through injury, but he’s now seemingly getting back on track.
4. Mauro Icardi – £17.2million
The revival of Icardi in Turkish football has been a beautiful sight to behold. The Argentine looked like a shadow of his former self during his final days with PSG, but thankfully Galatasaray have got him back on track.
Icardi spent last season on loan with the Turkish club and managed to score 22 goals in just 24 league appearances. He’s been just as prolific this season too, although he is still guilty of the occasional blunder.

3. Wilfried Zaha – £17.2million
Galatasaray landed one of the bargain deals of the summer as they snapped up Zaha on a free transfer. The 31-year-old has impressed in his new surroundings too with six goals and two assists across all competitions.
Upon his exit in the summer, Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish hailed Zaha as the club’s greatest ever player: “Wilfried Zaha leaves the club having been our best and most influential player.
“As much as we would have loved him to stay, after long discussions it became clear he wanted a different challenge, to experience something new and somewhere different before the end of his career, and I think that’s something we can all understand.”
2. Tanguy Ndombele – £18.0million
Tottenham fans saw glimpses of what Ndombele was capable of, but the Frenchman ultimately underwhelmed in north London. He is still on the books at Spurs, although they have done their best to offload him.
The 26-year-old has spent the last three seasons out on loan, with his latest loan move being with Galatasaray. The Turkish club do hold the option to purchase Ndombele for around £13million, although it remains to be seen if they will take up this option.
1. Tete – £20.7million
The Brazilian winger penned a four-year deal with Galatasaray in the summer and is now deemed to be the most valuable player in the league.
Tete enjoyed an eye-catching season with Lyon last time around has he averaged a goal contribution every 139 minutes in Ligue 1. Galatasaray fans are yet to see the best of the Brazilian, but we’re in no doubt that there’s still more to come from him.
