‘What a baller’: – Ethan Laird has Swansea fans raving after top display
Manchester United youngster Ethan Laird has made a very promising start to his loan spell at Championship side Swansea City.
Laird spent the second half of last season on loan at MK Dons and followed manager Russel Martin to Swansea ahead of the 2021-22 season.
The right-back quickly established himself as a regular in the side and registered his first Championship assist in their 3-3 draw with Luton Town.
“They [United] feel it’s a really good place for Ethan to keep developing and learning, and so do we,” Martin said recently. “As long as he can keep doing what he’s doing, train hard, and he’s finding some real consistency now which is really nice.
“I think the fans are enjoying him, the boys are definitely enjoying him and that’s what it’s about.”
The 20-year-old produced another brilliant performance during their 1-0 win over Huddersfield at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.
We’ve rounded up a number of tweets from Swansea fans that were impressed by his display.

Ethan Laird is the next loan player to break my heart when he returns to club football. What a player 😍⚽️

Special mention to Flynn Downes & Ethan Laird today, absolutely superb performance from those two. Joel Piroe is looking a really good signing, 6 goals for him this season already. Oliver Ntcham is going to get a lot better when he's fully fit. Jamie Paterson was good as well 👏

Made hard work of what could have been a thumping. So happy for a home win, and we looked good value for it at many points during the game. Piroe is the guy. Downes is unbelievable and Laird is a special player. Exciting we’ve got that home win #swans 🦢

If the manager, staff, fans and everyone else connected with Manchester United Football Club can conveniently forget about Ethan Laird's existence so he's forced to remain with Swansea, that would be fantastic and tremendously helpful

What a save that is 😩 brilliant from Ntcham and Piroe. We really should be further ahead now, need to kill this game sooner rather than later. Absolutely love Ethan Laird, top player #swans 🦢
