Can you name every player to score at the 2010 World Cup?

Uruguay's Diego Forlan celebrates scoring during the 2010 FIFA World Cup third place match between Uruguay and Germany at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth, South Africa 10 July 2010.

Ninety-six players scored at the 2010 World Cup but how many of them do you remember? We’ve created a bumper quiz to test your knowledge of the South Africa-hosted tournament.

The first World Cup to take place in Africa was something of a disappointment; goals were scarce, there were few great matches and it was all soundtracked by those bloomin’ vuvuzelas.

But there were still engaging storylines everywhere you looked. New Zealand were the only undefeated side in the competition, Ghana were a missed penalty away from becoming the first African semi-finalists and a young German side thrashed both England and Argentina.

And South Africa 2010 was graced by an excellent Spain. After years of underachievement, a line-up containing Real Madrid & Barcelona’s finest swept the field aside to win their first world title.

Despite the overall paucity of the football, plenty of fans will have fond memories of the 2010 World Cup with unheralded players becoming household names across the globe.

So we want you to name every goalscorer from the tournament and we’ve given you the country and number of goals as a clue. Not easy.

We’ve given you 15 minutes to get them all and the score to beat from the Planet Football office is 49/96 – but we’re sure loads of you will be able to match our tally. At least.

If this puts you in the mood for another quiz, then try naming every nation that has ever taken part in a World Cup.
