Colombia's James Rodriguez celebrates scoring against Uruguay in their World Cup match at Maracana, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, June 2014.

Can you name every goalscorer from the 2014 World Cup?

Brazil hosted a marvellous World Cup in 2014 with a record number of goalscorers illuminating the tournament. We’d like you to name them all.

Staging the first World Cup on South American soil since 1978, Brazil were under heavy pressure to lift the trophy for the sixth time but bowed out in that incredible 7-1 semi-final defeat against Germany.

Holders Spain were expected to mount a serious defence of their crown but suffered a humiliating group stage exit following comprehensive defeats to Chile and the Netherlands.

A number of smaller nations such as Belgium, Costa Rica and Colombia emerged as serious contenders as the 2014 tournament delighted fans across the globe. Well, maybe except England who were out after two matches.

But the final was a familiar one as Germany and Argentina locked horns in the iconic Maracana. The game looked set to head for a penalty shoot-out until a German substitute scored a dramatic late winner to send the trophy to Berlin.

Plenty of people will have fond memories of Brazil 2014 and we’d like you to name every single player that scored a goal in the competition. We’ve given you the country and the number of goals scored for each player and there are 116 to get.

The score from the Planet Football office is 84/116 and we reckon you’ll be doing well to match that.

If this gives you a taste for another challenge, why not try and name the top goalscorers in the history of the World Cup?
