Over 100 Premier League players travelled to Qatar to participate in the 2022 World Cup but can you name them all? Probably not, but don’t let that stop you trying our quiz…

Top-flight clubs in England have long used the rest of the world as their shopping centres so it comes as no surprise to learn that no league is better represented at the World Cup than the Premier League.

And all 20 clubs in the 2022-23 season had representatives in Qatar with only five nations – Australia, Canada, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia – brave enough to pick an entire squad without Premier League-based players.

In total, there’s 137 Premier League players at the 2022 World Cup. Some were important cogs for their nations, others little more than bench-warmers. But all started the competition with dreams of lifting famous trophy on December 18.

Manchester City had the most players in Qatar (16), while both Chelsea (12) and Manchester United (13) were also heavily represented. On the other hand, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Southampton each only had two World Cup players in their squad.

We’ve given you 30 minutes to complete our bumper quiz, with both the player’s club and country as useful clues. The score to beat from the Planet Football office is 125/137.

If this gives you a taste for another challenge, and why wouldn’t it, why not try and name the top goalscorers in the history of the World Cup?
