Can you name every team to reach the final of the FIFA Confederations Cup?
The Confederations Cup was a tournament contested by FIFA’s six continental champions, the world champions and a host nation once every four years before it was axed in 2017.
We’re putting your knowledge of the unique international tournament to the test and want you to name every nation to reach the final while the tournament was up and running.
Originally hosted in Saudi Arabia as the ‘King Fahd Cup’, FIFA officially began organising the tournament in 199 and renamed it, but recognise both the 1992 and 1997 editions of the tournament.
Pitting together winning nations from UEFA, CAF, CONMEBOL, CONCACAF, AFC and OFC, the current World Cup holders and the host nation of the tournament – often where the World Cup would be held the following year – would compete in an eight-team knockout format.
Across the 10 finals from 1992 to 2017 when it was axed in order to revise and expand both the FIFA Club World Cup and the Arab Cup, 13 different teams reached the final – we want you to name them all.
To help, we’ve given you the year of the final and the score the game finished, but you’re on your own after that. A quiz for proper football enthusiasts, this, who know the game’s intricacies.
If this gets you in the mood for another quiz, then why not try naming every player to win the Champions League & World Cup?
