West Ham United's Winston Reid celebrates after scoring his sides second goal against Millwall, Upton Park, England, February 2012.

Can you name the West Ham XI from their 2-1 win over Millwall, 2012?

West Ham United and Millwall share one of the fiercest rivalries in English football but it’s been 10 years since they’ve locked horns on a football field.

The Hammers relegation at Wigan in May 2011 was greeted with a plane flying over the stadium pulling the words ‘Avram Grant – Millwall Legend’ and the London pair would meet in the 2011-12 Championship.

A goalless draw at the New Den in September satisfied nobody and the stakes were high when Millwall travelled to Upton Park in February 2012 – and not just for the Metropolitan Police.

West Ham, under the management of Sam Allardyce, were top of the league but saw their hopes of derby victory dented by an early red card for their captain.

But they went into half-time ahead through a goal from their starting striker. Millwall responded by introducing an embryonic Harry Kane and soon equalised through Liam Trotter.

Smarting from conceding a cheap equaliser, West Ham went straight up the other end and regained the lead through their resident New Zealand international.

Allardyce’s side would hold onto victory and were promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season – albeit through the play-offs.

West Ham fans still celebrate their derby victory today and we’re asking you to name their starting XI from a freezing afternoon in east London over a decade ago.

If this puts you in the mood for another challenge, why not have a go at naming West Ham’s XI from their 3-2 win at Arsenal in 2006?
