Can you name the Everton XI from their 2-0 win over Liverpool in 2010?

Everton's Tim Cahill celebrates the opening goal during their 2-0 victory over Liverpool at Goodison Park, Liverpool, October 2010.

Everton haven’t enjoyed much success in the Merseyside derby over recent years but scored a famous victory over Liverpool in October 2010. Can you name their starting XI from that afternoon?

David Moyes had built a solid side capable of beating anybody on their day but they still trailed Liverpool in the Premier League throughout the 2010s.

But this match at Goodison Park represented a golden opportunity to bloody the nose of their arch-rivals. Liverpool were struggling under Roy Hodgson and went into the game in the relegation zone.

Everton rose the occasion superbly. A goal in each half saw the Toffees record a brilliant 2-0 win that lifted the roof of Goodison. The Liverpool players left the pitch with their tails firmly between their legs and Moyes savoured his success.

It would be Everton’s last victory in the fixture until February 2021 and remains the last time they beat Liverpool at Goodison, with the Reds avoiding defeat on their last 11 visits across Stanley Park.

But, with this season’s instalment soon approaching, we’d like you to name the Everton XI that beat Liverpool almost 12 years ago. The score to beat from the Planet Football office is 02:13.
