On October 20th 1996, Newcastle United enjoyed one of their greatest victories of the Premier League era by thrashing Manchester United 5-0 at St. James’ Park. How well can you remember that team?

We’re asking you to name every member of Kevin Keegan’s XI from that day.

The thrashing gave Newcastle’s memorable Entertainers great catharsis, having been beaten to the title – after squandering a 12-point lead – by Sir Alex Ferguson’s men the season before. They then had salt rubbed into their wounds by losing 4-0 to the Red Devils at Wembley in the Charity Shield.

“I always remember Kevin Keegan’s team talk,” recalled one of that famous night’s goalscorers years later.

“He said, ‘You owe all of these fans’, after they clapped us off at Wembley when we really didn’t deserve it.

“Every player was so determined to win that afternoon, and what a performance it was. Whenever I speak to Newcastle supporters, that’s the game they bring up.”
