Watch: Antonio Rudiger riles Spurs fans after scoring for Chelsea

Planet Football •

Barely a game goes by without Antonio Rudiger making himself centre of attention – and Chelsea’s League Cup semi-final against Tottenham proved no exception.

Rudiger was part of the Chelsea squad travelling to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium looking to secure their first League Cup final appearance since 2019.

Leading 2-0 from the first-leg, a game where Rudiger booted the ball against Tanguy Ndombele for no apparent reason, the Germany international was the scrouge of Tottenham once again.

With barely 20 minutes gone, the centre-back gave Harry Kane the slip and headed a corner past stand-in Spurs goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini – thus, effectively sealing the tie for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

After scoring, Rudiger endeared himself to the Tottenham supporters in his unique manner by puffing his cheeks out provocatively at the home fans.

No wonder Chelsea fans love him – even if the 28-year-old’s contract situation remains unresolved.

Rudiger’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires at the end of the 2021-22 season and he’s free to discuss terms with non-English clubs during the current transfer window.

PSG and Real Madrid are among the sides interested in signing the defender and it remains to be seen whether Rudiger will remain at Chelsea after the current campaign ends.
